Our curriculum is carefully designed so that each class entails proper stretching, physical exercise, development of fundamental basketball skills, and comprehension of basketball rules and terminology.
Students will be taught all the fundamentals of the game such as dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, defense, offensive moves, etc. Take dribbling for example, we will begin with the basic development of the motor-skills needed to bounce and catch the ball in a static position. Students will learn proper form and technique as we progress to being able to maintain a constant dribble. We will work on left-hand, right-hand, and crossover dribbling. Instruction will involve dribbling while in motion and around obstacles. Children will also learn proper stretching techniques, various muscular exercises, and basketball terminology.
All coaches are required to go through an extensive training to become a certified Basketball Basics coach. Coaches are also required to be CPR/First Aid certified. All coaches must also complete a background check. They must also have previous experience working with children.
