Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is the structure of a typical class?

Our curriculum is carefully designed so that each class entails proper stretching, physical exercise, development of fundamental basketball skills, and comprehension of basketball rules and terminology.

  2. What can I expect my child to learn?

Students will be taught all the fundamentals of the game such as dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, defense, offensive moves, etc. Take dribbling for example, we will begin with the basic development of the motor-skills needed to bounce and catch the ball in a static position. Students will learn proper form and technique as we progress to being able to maintain a constant dribble. We will work on left-hand, right-hand, and crossover dribbling. Instruction will involve dribbling while in motion and around obstacles. Children will also learn proper stretching techniques, various muscular exercises, and basketball terminology.

  3. What qualifications do coaches have?

All coaches are required to go through an extensive training to become a certified Basketball Basics coach. Coaches are also required to be CPR/First Aid certified. All coaches must also complete a background check. They must also have previous experience working with children.

  4. If my child wishes to join in the middle of the month or semester, will you prorate the amount?

Yes, tuition will be pro-rated based on the number of weeks left in the month, or months left in the year.

  5. What if I want to withdraw my child?

There is no cancellation fee for withdrawing your child. However, 30-day written notification is required to withdraw your child and close your account. Your account will remain active until we receive written notification.

  8. What if my child is absent on the day of class?

There are no makeup classes or refunds given due to absences.

  9. Does my child need to wear anything in particular?

Not necessarily. We would love to see your child in their Basketball Basics jersey, but it is not required. Children may wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. Most kids are fine dressed in the clothing that they wore to school that day. Some parents will send their child to school with an extra change of shoes or pants for basketball class.
